HMS EDUCATION SOCIETY

H.M.S.Education Society, Tumkur (Karnataka) has a long history of two decades in imparting Technical, Para Medical (Physiotherapy, Unani Medicine & Pharmacy) and general Education for the benefit of eligible candidates in India and abroad.

The society was established during the year 1980 by veteran Educationalist Sri.S.Shafi Ahmed, Ex.MLA, founder chairman of the society.  He is the driving force behind all the developments of the Society.  To begin with, in 1980 a Polytechnic was started with just four branches.  Four more branches were added subsequently.  Since then, under his able leardership, the H.M.S.Education Society has never looked back.  To educate more people and to keep up pace with the new technological developments, new Colleges and Schools were opened.

Today H.M.S.Education Society is a household name in the field of Education in Karnataka.  It stands apart for its quality Education for the diversified courses it offers in the field of Technology, Para Medicine etc,.More than 3000 students from all parts of India and abroad are studying in its campus right from L.K.G. to Graduation & Post Graduation courses.

Dear Student,
I am pleased to place in your hands this prospectus of Rajiv Gandhi College of Education & H.M.S.Teachers Training Institution, Tumkur-3.  I thank you for envincing interest in producing our college prospectus with a view to have first hand information about the college and courses of study.

I firmly believe that, of the three major components of an Educational institution of higher learning namely (i) Institutional Infrastructure (ii) Teachers and (iii) Students, the most important is the "Student".  And therefore, the focal point of our concern has been to develop the overall personality of the students and to take care of the students ambitions, making their stay in the college campus meaningful, purposeful and comfortable.  We take special care of the students who are away their homes.

Eligibility

For B.Ed.:  Pass in Bachelor Degree in Arts / Science i.e. B.A./ B.Sc. of any University in India or abroad recognised as equivalent to 10+2+3 pattern of Education obtaining 50% of Marks (45% for SC / ST, C-1, PH) in aggregate in all the subject studied at the degree level with.
 i) Any 1 of the following Languages:
    Kannada, English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Sanskrit
ii) Any 2 of the follwing electives:
    Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, English,     Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Sanskrit.
Duration: 1 Year

For D.Ed.:  Pass in 10+2 / PUC / equivalent in Science or Arts group with minimum 50% of marks (45% for SC / ST, C-1, PH)
Duration: 2 Years
For Feature of fees:  If candidate fails to report / wishes to cancel with in 7 days 25% of fees, with in 15 days 50% of the fees, after 15 days no refund.

Learning Resource Centre (LRC)
The LRC is equipped with latest books & National / International Journals in the relevant fields.  It accomadates academic activity ambience for the students, such as reading books, journals programming, software development linked by the institute, internet reference.  The LRC runs throughout the academic year.

Hostel Facility
The institution has seperate hostel facilities for girls and boys.  Both hostels have boarding facilities based on expenditure sharing.  Utmost-care is taken in the hostel provide hygienic food and water.  Strict discipline is maintained in the hostel.  There are facility for indoor games and TV room.

The Campus
The college is situated in a cozy campus adjoing the National Highway No-4, linking Chennai, Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai.  The place, at the hillock is surrounded by valleys, rich greenery and tanks.  The top of the hill keeps the campus cool even in the hot summer because of the ambience.
