Electrical And Electronics Engineering Facilities

Electrical Machines Lab

This is our core set of laboratories, in terms of curriculum. Its overall needs are versatility and generality, in view of the many basic course needs it serves. This lab is general enough to hold a number of experiments suitable for giving students enough exposure to enable them to easily adopt experiments in more advanced laboratories in the department. This is the main lab where experiments like load test on various machines, speed control tests, open circuit tests, short circuit tests, etc are carried out and also wide variety of practicals are performed here with combination of different rotating machines.

Electronics Lab

This is the main lab where basic experiments like device characteristics and basic analog circuits are held. This lab is general enough to hold a number of experiments suitable for giving students enough exposure to enable them to easily adopt experiments in more advanced laboratories in the department.

Op-amp and Linear ICs Lab

This Lab consists of all types of measuring instruments and cathode ray oscilloscope, audio oscillators, function generators and various types of decade boxes.

Measurements and Circuit Simulation Lab

This lab is to fortify the students with an adequate work experience in the measurement of different quantities and also helps to expertise in handling the instruments. This lab is fully equipped with measurements kits like AC Bridges, DC Bridges, A/D, D/A converters, CRO, Regulated power supply.

Power Electronics Lab

This lab helps the students to study switching devices, power devices and its applications in rectifier, inverter, chopper and resonant converter, to learn the PWM Techniques for both UPS and AC Drive applications. This lab is fully equipped with all types of modules like SCR Firing circuit module, SCR based half and fully controlled converter kit, IGBT based three phase PWM inverter module, chopper module’s based V/I commuted chopper module with firing module., CRO, Isolation Transformer, single phase Auto Transformer Meters, Mosfet Based step Up and Step Down Choppers module.

Control Systems Lab

This lab is equipped with control system kits like DC/AC servomotor, synchros. Well established with instrumentation kits. Provides an opportunity for the students to implement the control system concepts using MATLAB software, prototype controllers based on proportional + integral + derivative elements, root locus techniques, Nyquist and Bode techniques, compensation strategies.

Relay and High Voltage Lab

Experiments related to high voltage engineering are done in this laboratory. Testing of various relays for its performance and application.

Power System simulation lab

The primary goal of the Simulation labs is to provide assistance to students that will enhance their chances of succeeding in technology-based assignments and to provide access to equipment that will support the needs of instruction where we celebrate life-long learning. The Simulation lab uses MATLAB and Mi-Power to support the curriculum of the university.
