ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Physics is a part of Bachelor of Engineering curriculum. Department of Physics started as a basic Science Department in HMS Institute of Technology in the Academic year 1997-98 with intake of 180 students. However the growth of department is rapid and reached the strength of 420 students. This growth is as a result of recognition to the Institution among the Public in Nation-wide.

OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

The students are able,

  • To identify the concepts and philosophy of physics from their respective Engineering field.
  • To use the concepts and ideas of physics in developing technology
  • To develop innovative way of thinking in the field of engineering physics.
  • To prepare the qualities expected by the modern and dynamic society related to Engineering physics.
  • To develop 3R's in the field of Engineering Physics.
  • To develop reasoning capacity and conscious feeling in answering Physics related to Engineering.
  • To achieve self sustainable in terms of food, cloth and shelter through learning applications of Physics.
  • To develop human potential with high ethical standards.
  • To streamline the young and energetic human potential in the right path to achieve Vision-2020
  • To develop self confident and self motivation through learning Physics.

SHORT RANGE GOALS OF THE DEPARTMENT

The students are able,

  • To provide chances to expose their talents by conducting and allow to participate in seminars , exhibitions and other co-curricular activities.
  • To develop the sense of understanding related to Engineering Physics by way of providing study material and e-Self Learning Material in addition with class room instruction.
  • To develop the knowledge of analysis and synthesis related to Engineering Physics.

  • To safe from frustration on subject due to work accumulation at the end time by way of providing class room planning with equal distribution of work load.
